His remarks came as tension in the region Sims after last month’s deadly attack on tourists in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
New Delhi accused Islamabad of the April 22 attack in Pahagam, killing 26 people-a claim Islamabad strongly refused as baseless, triggering a series of heated threats and diplomatic tit-for-tate measures.
However, Islamabad says it has “credible intelligence” that India intends to launch military action, which burns the prospects of war between the neighbors.
According to the military’s media wing, the COAs emphasized during his interaction with the participants of the 15th National Workshop Balochistan at GHQ: “Pakistan seeks peace in the region and beyond that if Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity is violated, Pakistan will respond with full strength to preserve his national prestige and well -being for its people.”
The Army Chief also highlighted the government’s sustained focus on improving the socio -economic profile of Balochistan and stated that the scope and extent of ongoing and planned initiatives should serve to remove the obvious disinformation in this regard.
“Many development projects have already begun to bear fruit and benefit the people of Balochistan,” he added.
To appreciate the role of civil society in raising awareness among the people of Balochistan, especially youth, Coas emphasized their role in enabling progress leading to prosperity.
The Army Chief emphasized that foreign sponsored terrorism remains the greatest threat to Balochistan’s safety and development.
He warned that the dishonest design of hostile elements seeking to encourage violence, spreading fears and destabilizing the province is not allowed to succeed.
Coas confirmed Pakistan’s determination and declared that terrorism does not know any religion, sect or ethnicity and must be confronted with unwavering national unity.
“Terrorist groups committing terror in the name Baloch identity to promote their small insidious agenda is a spot on Baloch honor and patriotism,” he added.
Gen Munir also said that the armed forces and law enforcement authorities will continue to fight the threat of terrorism with the complete support of the population of Pakistan.
