You may have missed it in everything that comes to Netflix in July 2025, but there is a good reason why you shouldn’t overlook it (and not just that season 3 should still come).
Virgin RiverSuccess alone is nothing short of amazing. It is now the longest -running original series on the platform that still draws in almost 16 million viewers as Season 6 fell in December 2024. Virgin tearR Season 7 has officially wrapped filming, but no release date is confirmed from writing.
Bad news, right? Wrong! Sullivan’s crossing is the ideal new TV show to get used to us in the meantime. Seen in Canada rather than California, it is the epitome of cozy comfort drama with lots of famous faces thrown in for a good goal.
Why do I recommend watching Sullivan’s crossing on Netflix
Look at
Neurosurgeon Maggie (Morgan Kohan) seems to be moving away from her great city life in Boston after a terrible tragedy affects her personal life. She moves back to her childhood hometown of Sullivan’s crossing, Nova Scotia, where her father Sully (Scott Patterson) runs a campsite. Maggie meets the new resident Cal (Chad Michael Murray) and Sparks will fly soon. Where have we heard that story before?
Sure, Sullivan’s crossing is exactly the same as Virgin River If you strip it back to its bare bones, but in reality, the hit -TV is so much more than its big sister. To begin with unite the role crew When hope rings‘Kohan, Noughties Teen Heartthrob Murray and Gilmore Girls Legend Patterson in Family Conflict, always drawing on the heart strings, allowing each actor to do what they are best at. Obviously, it does not hurt that some drama takes place against the jaw -covering picturesque views of rural Canada.
Our main anchorpoints differ from Virgin Riveralso. Maggie falls for Cal, but still has exciting connections to his ex, Andrew (Allan Hawco). Essentially, this acts as the reverse of Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), who falls for the newcomer Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge), but has not fully broken things with Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley). Sullivan’s crossing Taking his romantic triangle a step further and burning the trio in a messy pregnancy plot intended to change all their lives for good.
What is the best thing about Sullivan’s crossingDo I hear you ask? The beautiful earthly life of their daily lives. Where rival TV shows like Riverdale and restart off Dynasty Take the drama in their dynamics to the extreme, Sullivan’s crossing Always returns to the simplicity of what real life really looks like and it pays off in its popularity. You can happily lose your mind until they break at the campsite reception that happens that happens in the local dining room and the many quirky local events that bring society together.
If you just can’t wait for Virgin River To return or want to immerse you in more of the same, there is no doubt that Sullivan’s crossing will scratch that itching.
