- Designed for sale in Europe starts ID.Every1 to about € 20,000
- It’s a little smaller than VW -Polo but offers the same room
- A range of 155 miles and a top speed of 80 km / h has been suggested
Volkswagen teased its small, affordable electrical city car last month as it released a series of gloomy images that suggested a sportier, more aggressive EV to start its line-up of battery-powered passenger cars.
Baptized ID.AVERY1 (We know it’s a terrible name), the show car has now been revealed in all its boxy, flared-hard glory.
Standing at 3,880 mm in length measures a little longer than the old one! (3,600 mm) and is designed to sit between the upcoming ID.2all and the current Polo.
Apart from making us want to start a petition against completely ridiculous vehicle names, ID.EVERY1 looks smooth, with animated front and back lamps that “cater to” owners, lower front bumpers offering a “smile” and massive 19-inch wheels enveloped by chunky, flared wheels.
It certainly moves the game from the slightly unclear look! Or yesterday, and it also offers more interior spatiality with space for four people and a luggage compartment of 305 liters.
“A secret sauce element is the roof drawn into the middle, which is usually known from sports cars,” says Volkswagen leader of Design Andreas Mindt.
Although this is a show car and is not the model that will make it for sale, VW has said that the concept reaches a top speed of 130 km/h (80 km/h) and is operated by a “newly developed” electric motor with 70 kW (95 hp). The area is at least 250 kilometers – or about 155 miles in old money.
Much aimed at the affordable little city car segment, currently dominated by things like Fiat 500E, or the even cheaper Dacia spring and recently indicated Leap engine T03, it is designed to offer cheap cars without shrinking on VW’s reputation for quality.
Created “In Europe for Europe” starts ID.1 – as we hope it will be badged – of about € 20,000 or about £ 17,000 in the UK ($ 21,600 roughly converted).
This will see that it starts a number of nine new models in 2027 including the production version of ID.2all and updated versions of ID.3, ID.4 and ID.5.
VW comes back to do what it does best
Despite the fact that ID.VERY1 is likely to change significantly for this funky -looking concept, it can already boast of a number of neat and practical features that help it stand out from the current amount of basic, budget -ev’s.
There is a large central infotainment system, complete with a nice range of physical buttons below it inside. The two-neren steering wheel is also decorated with multifunction buttons, ensuring that not everything is obliged to a fuzzy touch screen.
Volkswagen also says the front passenger page of the Dash panel is designed to be ‘variable’. Essentially, designers have created a dedicated railway that allows things, such as a tablet or tray table, to be snapped in place.
The concept images also appear to show a small speaker system that can be clicked into place in the mid -console – or presumably removed and used as a bluetooth sound system when picnicking or partying outside.
When taking a magazine out of KIA’s recent design book, the mid -console can also be used as an armrest or slide backwards and offered as a practical stubbing space for rear passengers.
Practical, usable and stylish, ID.1 Hope to emulate success with the long -standing polo, perhaps not in the epic sales numbers, but in the fact that it can introduce a new new audience to the brand with a good look, a modern interior and an attractive price.
