- Walmart’s new 4K Google TV streamer spotted in the wild, possibly by mistake
- Equipped with quad-core Cortex-A55, 4K support and Dolby Atmos
- Expected in May, price around $30
Walmart appears to have unveiled its latest budget streaming stick, the Onn 4K Streaming Stick, but perhaps more by accident than design. There hasn’t been an official announcement, but the device has been spotted on some store shelves by an eagle-eyed Redditor.
According to Justlook361 (via Android Headlines), who posted photos of the boxed streamer, someone in the store may have made a mistake: There was only one box on the shelf, and “it was mixed in with a bunch of sticks” instead of being in its own shelf section. It fits with speculation that the device will launch in May; it is possible that the store mistakenly put the inventory out early.
In terms of specs, you get a lot for very little money: the $30 sticker price gets you dual-band Wi-Fi, 4K and Dolby Atmos with support for Google Cast and voice control via Gemini for TV. It looks like an attractive Chromecast replacement and could be one of the best streaming devices for budget buyers in the US.

Onn 4K Streaming Stick: Key Features
The box includes the 4K streaming stick, an 11.8″ HDMI extender for awkward places, a remote control with two included AA batteries, and an AC adapter with a 4.88ft cable. Specs listed are a quad-core Cortex-A55 processor, ARM Mali G57 GPU, 2GB of RAM with 8GB of storage, and dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
It’s a decent upgrade over previous versions, which were 1080p instead of 4K, and had 1GB of RAM instead of 2GB.
At $30, this streaming stick is a bit more expensive than existing models, which come in around $20 for the Full HD streaming stick, but it’s obviously a better spec with higher resolution. And $30 is hardly expensive.
We don’t have an official launch date yet, but since branches seem to have stock already, it won’t be long until the new streaming stick is official. And it may well be more widely available before the official release: in 2023 and 2024, Walmart stores sold streaming devices weeks before they were officially launched.
