The Golden State Warriors Guard Buddy Hield was not entertained when he visited the Coliseum in Rome.
HILED was on a NBA Summer League match to watch the young players on Warriors’ list of Utah Jazz Sunday night. Warriors won the game 103-93, but it was HILED’s comments on his trip to Italy that got the attention of the Internet.

“I was a little disappointed when I went to the Coliseum because I saw ‘Gladiator’ and I thought Maximus was a real warrior,” he explained to the ESPN broadcast. “So I go into the Coliseum and scream, ‘Maximus!’ My travel guide said he is not real.
“Gladiator” was released in 2000 and won Oscars for best image, best actor, best visual effects, best sound and best costume design. It earned more than $ 465 million at the ticket office.

HILED said he saw “Gladiator 2” with Paul Mescal and Denzel Washington and didn’t think it was as good as the first with Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix.
HILED is coming into his second season with Warriors. He joined the team before the start of the 2024-25 season as part of a six-team trade with Philadelphia 76ers. He average 11.1 points per Battle and shot 41.7% off the field.
He played in all 82 matches that mainly came out of the bench.

HIELD was an NBA All-Rockie team member when he first broke into the league. He started with New Orleans Pelicans, but was traded for Sacramento Kings in his rookie year. He has also played with Indiana Pacers.
