A man from Washington State faces assault charges after he was accused of pushing two teenage referees during his son’s hockey game, which was caught on video of security cameras.
Uriel Isaac Cortes Gonzalez, 42, is facing two counts of wrongdoing with violation after police say he attacked two judges, both under the age of 15, in a “unprovoked” event during a youth hockey game on Sunday.
According to legal registrations, officials with the Seattle Police Department received reports of an “annoying parent” that attacked two teenage -Refs on Kraken Community Iceplex Sunday just before noon.

The caller told a coordinator that the man was back before the game ended, but he was later placed by police at a traffic light near the complex.
Gonzalez told police that he witnessed his son was assaulted by another player from the opposing team during the game, according to arrest warrant. He claimed his son was “beaten and kicked for about thirty seconds, and the judges did nothing to stop the assault.”
He claimed he went to the ice to break up the fight and that he pushed a judge to get to his son. He also claimed he was not aware that the game officials were minors.

Police reviewed the incident, which was caught by the complex’s security cameras, and found that Gonzalez’s version of the incident was not supported by video.
According to the arrest report, there was no fight that took place at the time of the alleged assault. The judges, 13 and 14, police said they had already broken a fight and had gone over to the box where officials sat to document it. At that time, video footage shows that Gonzalez is approaching them both from behind and pushing them to the ground.
“There was no fight at the time and the game was stopped,” police records said, adding that “the assault seemed to be unprovoked.”

The two victims did not appear to have serious injuries and were treated on site. Police arrested Gonzalez and he was charged on Tuesday for two counts on Wrongdoing assault.
Kraken released a statement in response to the incident that Gonzalez has been banned from Rink.
“Seattle Kraken and Kraken Community Iceplex strive to promote an environment of just that – society – where everyone can share their love for hockey. The Kraken code laid on the walls of KCI reminds us, and our values every day .
“Pacific Northwest Amateur Hockey Association and the US Hockey are conducting a study with the authorities and we have helped them since the incident took place. The person in question has been banned from our facility.”
