- A new one House of the Dragon update of season 3 has got tongues wagging among fans
- Ominous new quotes have appeared on various Game of Thrones social media accounts
- Some believe they are teasing a release date and/or a trailer reveal
The first trailer and official launch date for House of the Dragon season 3 might not be too far away from being revealed. Well, if a few sinister new posts of numerous Game of Thrones (GoT) social media channels are everything to go by.
Today (February 17th) new posts were shared on the official Thrones and House of the Dragon (HotD) feeds, each containing a threatening quote. As for the former, the words “There will be no mercy…” can be seen, while the latter shows the saying “We are now marching towards our annihilation…”.
Understandably, the posts have caused excitement within GoT community, with some now suggesting they herald the start of this season’s promotional push.
House of the Dragon season 3 is set to debut on our screens in mid-2026, so it’s not a huge surprise that HBO is starting to ramp up its marketing campaign for the HBO Max TV original. Nevertheless, some fans believe that these posts indicate that it will not be long before its first trailer and an official release date are revealed.
When can House of the Dragon Season 3 release date and trailer be revealed?
If I were a betting man, I would bet that the upcoming season’s launch date and initial teaser will be revealed after A knight of the seven kingdoms‘(AKotSK) season 1 finale.
AKotSKwhich is placed between HotD and Throneswill leave our screens after the sixth and final chapter of its debut season airs in the coming days. Depending on where you’re based, it will premiere on many of the world’s top streaming services on February 22nd or 23rd.
Considering GoT devoted and more casual viewers will tune in to the last entry of AKotSK season 1, it makes sense for HBO to start promoting House of the Dragon‘s next season as soon as its sibling show ends. I’d be shocked if we don’t at least get a short teaser and/or release date confirmation once AKotSK Episode 6’s credits are complete.
Whenever Season 3’s debut trailer and launch date is announced, we already know it won’t be the end of it House of the Dragon. In fact, HBO confirmed last November that it had renewed House of the Dragon for a fourth and potentially final season, so there will be another eight-part installment after the upcoming season’s run has run its course.
