- More updates are apparently on the way to Samsung -Messages
- Previously it looked like the app was on the way out
- Google -Messages were the Standard Messaging app on the Galaxy S25
We feared the worst for Samsung messages when the Galaxy S25 series was launched without the app on board -Google messages were pre -installed instead -but it seems that Samsung messages are not actually going away as a bigger batch of new updates has been viewed.
These updates are not officially advertised or pushed out to users, but the team at Android Authority has seen them in the latest app code. After all, the signs are that Samsung is eager to keep the rival to Google messages alive.
The features that have been discovered include birthday ministers for people on your contact list, Live Location Sharing (also apparently on the way to Google messages) and support for emoji and stickers reactions on messages.
Another upcoming feature that has been seen Links Samsung messages to Now Brief, the AI-driven update panel on the latest Samsung phones. It seems that now short will soon be able to show warnings of suspicious, malicious and blocked messages.
What happens next?
It is completely the function of the function, including some big new upgrades, even if it is not live yet. It doesn’t really fit with the idea of an app that is on the way out – and you might remember it also got full support for RCS chat back in February.
These are mixed messages from Samsung because there is no doubt that Samsung messages were really on the way out. Samsung even used the word “sunset” in a statement released in January when the app was removed from the Google Play Store.
You can still get on Samsung messages through the Galaxy Store, but if you have a Samsung phone. We will have to wait and see if these new features come with fresh messages from Samsung when they actually see the light of day.
It will also be interesting to see if Samsung messages appear on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung Galaxy Flip 7, which will be in July. The 2024 versions of these phones were actually the first to come without Samsung messages that were preloaded.
