Chief of Army Staff (Coas) General Syed Asim Munir has said that Pakistanis are proud of their religion and culture and will never allow Khawarij to be applied to his outdated ideology in the country.
The Army Chief made these remarks while approaching students from different universities throughout Pakistan.
During the meeting, Coas Asim Munir declared that the Pakistani people, especially youth, share a deep bond with the Pakistani army.
He emphasized that trials from anti-state elements to create a gap between the army and the public has always failed and will continue to do so.
“As long as the nation, especially the youth, stands with us, the Pakistani army will never be defeated. We are fighting as comrades, and for us Pakistani identity is most important, ”he said.
The Army Chief further noted that Pakistanis are proud of their religion, civilization and traditions. He asked, “Which Sharia and Religion are these Khawarij talking about?” And emphasized that their outdated ideology would never be allowed to grab the country.
General Asim Munir also emphasized that the brave people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan stand as an iron wall against terrorists.
He added that the army continues to fight Khawarij daily and does not agree with their interpretation of religion. “Islam was the first religion in the world to honor women and raised their status – whether it’s a mother, wife or sister, Islam has always given women,” he said.
Coas also asked, “Who is these Khawarij to remove this honor? Who gave them this authority? No one can take it away, and we will never allow such misleading groups to impose on their country’s values.”
The army chief reiterated that the Pakistani army is fighting these corrupt elements that mistakenly interpret Islam. He said Khawarij violates Islamic teaching, and religion has clear directives of such unrest. “Those who surrender to the state can expect grace,” he concluded.
