Marvel has announced when The Punisher TV special will debut on Disney+ — and what its official title will be.
Revealing both pieces of news today (March 24), the comics titan confirmed that the TV show starring Jon Bernthal will be called The Punisher: One Last Kill and is set to be released on Tuesday 12 May / Wednesday 13 May.

Interestingly, the latter’s next chapter, which premieres on Disney+ on March 24/25, ends a week early The Punisher: One Last Kill makes its own debut on one of the world’s best streaming services.
Does that mean events depicted in the anti-hero’s TV special of the same name will run concurrently with Daredevil: Born Againis second excursion? Or will it actually take place after Born again 2‘s final? Only those involved in the production of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) know for sure. Nevertheless, I can’t wait to find out.
How will The Punisher: One Last Kill affect Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
The soon to be released second season of Daredevil’s MCU TV series is not the only project that One last kill will be bound to.
In fact, with The Punisher – real name Frank Castle – set to have a supporting role in the Spider-Man: Brand New Dayit is possible that whatever happens in One last kill will directly affect the plot of the next Marvel Phase 6 movie.
How so? To answer that, we have to go inside potentially major spoiler territory before Spider-Man 4 — so if you don’t want to know more, I suggest you leave this page immediately.
Okay, the prevailing rumor about The Punisher’s role in Spider-Man’s next MCU adventure is that he’ll be protecting someone of great importance from the authorities. The person in question? The mysterious character that will be played by Sadie Sink in Brand New Day.
It’s a long shot, but what if Sink’s character first appears in One last kill? If she does, that’s when Frank Castle will promise to keep her safe before the pair show up Brand new day? It would be a fun way to not only explain why the duo is in it Spider-Man 4but also acts as additional connective tissue between Brand new day and Daredevil: Born Again. Castle’s association with both projects is of course their primary common denominator.
In any case, Marvel’s head of television Brad Winderbaum has already written up (per Entertainment Weekly) to suggest that Born again 2 and Spider-Man 4 will be more closely connected than any of us realize. So Bernthal’s Castle and Sink’s unnamed persona would be a surefire way to bridge the productions, especially if my theory that Sink will appear in One last kill first is correct.
