- Expect DJI Osmo Pocket 4 on April 16
- The vlogging camera has long been rumored
- Insta360 is also launching Luna soon
The build-up to the launch of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 has been long and busy, but we now have an official date for the unveiling of the vlogging camera – while further leaks are emerging for a rival device from Insta360.
DJI has posted a teaser clip on social media telling us that the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 will launch on Thursday, April 16. The reveal begins at 12:00 GMT, which works as 4am PT / 7am ET / 9pm AEST in Australia, so please mark your calendars accordingly.
The camera isn’t mentioned by name, but we get a pretty good glimpse of it, with the tagline “the world in your pocket.” In Japanese, tagline translates as “the world expands”, which may suggest expanded camera sensor capabilities.

As Notebookcheck points out, that suggests a wider built-in focal length on the new camera, along with support for the Open Gate standard offered by the iPhone 17 Pro — meaning more of the sensor area can be used for filming.

The official announcement hasn’t stopped the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 leak from surfacing. Regular tipster Igor Bogdanov (via Notebookcheck ) has published several renders of the camera ahead of time, showing its tweaked design – with two additional console buttons.
Among the other upgrades that have been tipped are improvements to the 1-inch sensor that lets in more light and improves photo and video quality, and an additional camera is a potential option for a Pro version of the device.
However, DJI may immediately have some competition for its new camera. Thanks again to Igor Bogdanov for the leak, this time for the Insta360 Luna: it’s described as a “more interesting” version of what DJI is about to unveil.
The Insta360 Luna is official, as it’s already been announced — but we don’t know exactly when it’ll go on sale, or any of the specs we can expect. For consumers, however, more choices and more competition are absolutely welcome.
