- Captain America 4‘s creative team denies it is a retrained version of The winter soldier
- Fans have routinely compared the movies because of the similar political thriller -vibs
- Brave new worldDirector and producer say there are big differences between the two films
Captain America: Brave New World is not just a carbon culpopy of the story and themes that were explored in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
It is the judgment of Julius Onah and Nate Moore who instructed and produced Brave new world, respectively. In a speech with Techradar ahead of the Marvel film launch this Friday (February 14) the duo answered those who have compared Captain America 4 to the movie series’ Second Rate. Not surprisingly, they do not agree that Sam Wilson’s first big screen excursion as the titular hero is a freshly ground version The winter soldier.
Comparisons between the films can be expected. The couple is invoiced as action thrillers with more than their reasonable proportion of political paranoia, star the iconic shield-enhanced cap and explore timely themes in the real world, including incorrect information and empathy for your fellow human being.
However, Onah and Moore reject the notion that the fourth Captain America Flicker Recreation Old Earth. They claim that with a new character, subject to the titular mantle – Anthony Mackies Wilson has replaced Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers – and Brave new world‘s unique storytelling elements separate it from its three Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) ancestors.
“In many ways this is the first Captain America story because it’s the first with Sam Wilson,” Onah told me. “The privilege of being able to tell this story is that I don’t have to claim old land.
Sam has to find out how to work as Captain America with the President of the United States
Julius Onah, Captain America 4 Director
“He is a guy who has another superpower. He is not equipped with abilities in the conventional sense – his superpower is his heart and his empathy. That’s the desire to get in touch with other people and his story as an adviser to army veterans . [Sam] In a unique situation that pushes him forward? ‘. If we do, we also push forward Captain America.
“That’s what I loved by making an action thriller that has a paranoia element for it,” continued onah. “It’s a story of distrust of individuals and institutions. So when you take a guy who implicitly want to trust people and see the best in them, and put him opposite someone like Thaddeus Ross [played by Harrison Ford]Who Sam Mistrusts because Thaddeus broke up Avengers [in Captain America: Civil War] And put Sam in jail, Sam has to find out how to work as Captain America with [Ross as] The president of the United States, which is a situation we have never seen before in MCU. “
By repeating Onah’s response in a separate interview to the Marvel phase 5 movie, Moore said, “The way Steve approaches a problem is very different from the way Sam approaches one.
“To some extent, the first three Captain America movies about a man out of time tried to find out where he fits into the modern world and whether he’s dealing with Ross, Tony Stark or Nick Fury , how different his perspective is with the modern perspective of espionage.
“In this movie, Sam is trying to find out why he has not let go of rooms that others have been released into the past,” Moore continued. “I don’t know that Sam gets to move through the world the same way Steve did. He is not a super soldier but he lives this role as a man who is loved, honored and to some extent feared. Now feared . I think it makes it another movie.
