Yolanda Hadid’s emotional Instagram post about her daughter Bella Hadid has left fans of the model worried and asked what happened to her.
Yolanda, who shared a number of images of Bella, who underwent treatment, wrote that her daughter has fought for chronic neurological Lyme disease, a disease Bella was first diagnosed in 2013.
“The invisible disability of chronic neurological Lyme disease is difficult to explain or understand to anyone,” she wrote.
The post offered a rare glimpse of Bella’s health struggles. Yolanda said she has seen Bella “fight in silence”, which described it as cutting into “the deepest core of hopelessness.”
She praised her daughter as “merciless and brave” while recognizing “the darkness, the pain and the unknown hell” Bella has been exposed to for over a decade.
Lyme disease, a tick-borne infection, can lead to prolonged neurological symptoms when it becomes chronic.
Yolanda, who has spoken publicly about her own struggle with the disease, said she has traveled around the world and searched for treatments and hopes one day to share what they have learned with the wider Lyme community.
“I pray for your quick recovery my love,” she wrote to Bella, adding, “We will continue to fight for better days together.”
