Tiktok content John E. Crawley, known by millions as “Kingbeardx”, died Monday at the North Mississippi Medical Center after being hospitalized with respiratory problems. He was 47.
The sad news of his death was announced by his friend and former podcast host Anthony Caruso, Crawley’s friend and former Podcast Co host on a Gofundme.
“I’m really sorry to tell all the bad news, but Pimpmunkx (Kingbeardx) died yesterday,” Caruso wrote on August 19th. “Thank you to everyone who has supported Fundraiser so far.”
“His mother says I said to thank you all,” he added. “Fundraiser will continue to support the fundraising of a funeral/help John’s mother.”
According to Nypost Crawley, traveling to the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi, earlier this month because he struggled to breathe.
Crawley’s condition was “quite unstable” according to the fundraising side and he was later placed in ICU.
Crawley’s family asked Caruso to help them launch a fundraiser to raise money for Tiktok star’s medical bills because he did not have health insurance.
“John is the biggest parent for his family, and unfortunately he has no medical insurance,” Caruso explained about two weeks before Crawley’s shocking death. “His condition is quite unstable and we are all concerned about him.”
The self-proclaimed “Funnest Guy on the Internet” had collected 2.5 million followers on Tiktok through close angle images and over-the-top humor.
News about Crawley’s death got thousands of social media tribute tribute from fans and co-creators who praised his unique brand of everyday observation comedy delivered with high energy opinions and Homespun takes.
The native Mississippi built his followers through relatable rants on food culture and social media trends and established himself as a distinctive voice in the crowded landscape of Tiktok comedy.
