- The Apple C1 modem could be the start of something big
- We certainly learn more about the future on our faces
- A HomePod with a display would be a blessing for developers
MacBooks MUST MACBOOK, iPhone should iPhone, but what about new Apple hardware? While Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC) 2025 will not be a Bonanza for new Apple products, it may offer our best tips on mid-term and more distant future for Apple hardware, in addition to the next process upgrades.
Before I get into the exciting things like glasses, I am first and foremost excited to hear news about Apple’s C1 chipset experiment. The Apple C1 chip is the 5G modem that drives the network features of the iPhone 16E, and it could be Apple’s secret weapons for future products.
Most companies that manufacture phones, tablets and laptops depend on one or two large chipmakers to deliver network hardware. If you want a connected mobile device, you need hardware from Qualcomm or Medatek or Samsung.
For example, Google Pixel 9 uses the Google-designed Tensor G4 processor and a Samsung Exynos 5400 5G modem. Apple has been trying to avoid trusting Qualcomm for years, but Qualcomm makes the most advanced 5G hardware and can produce the greatest amount.
Go into the C1, the first 5G chipset designed by Apple, seen for no other chipmakers. It is not as powerful or effective as Qualcomms Modemchips, but it gets the job done and the difference can be insignificant for most users.
I would very much like to see news about C1 chip and any successors on WWDC. Apple has never offered MacBook-laptop computers with built-in cellular connection, so it would be exciting to see new hardware from Apple taking advantage of the company’s new networking.
Apple Vision Pro and Visionos will always be exciting and new
Of course, Apple Vision Pro will be a highlight of the WWDC 2025, as the unique device has the latest and most unique software, and WWDC is about software development.
Rumors suggest that Apple could launch new controllers or controller support for Vision Pro, and that would give us an idea of how the platform is progressing.
But what does users request? What does Apple need to fix for the next generation? Personally, I would love to hear more about a Lite version of Visionos because it can lead us to hints about all upcoming XR Smart Glasses Apple that may be working on.
Apple Vision Pro is a more robust and productivity -focused device compared to e.g. Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses or the latest Google XR glasses prototypes. A pared-back visionos would be the first sign that Apple seeks to take its Vision Pro out of the office and into nature.

How about a new HomePod with Display?
I expect to hear interesting news about Apple at home and we could see a new HomePod device around WWDC time. Rumors suggest that HomePod may be getting a display and that would mean a new opportunity for developers. A new home screen would be a perfect little hardware message to supplement the developer focus for WWDC.
I wouldn’t expect Apple to stop with a little HomePod. If HomePod gets its own screen, does it have its own operating system? Will it just be an iPados device, or could there be a new Apple -Homeos on the way? If it’s the latter, we could see many new Apple Home products with display, apps and new software to start.

There is plenty of room to grow watchos and compete with Google
Finally, I expect to hear more about my health because there are so many innovations in health wearables apparently on the horizon. Has Apple made any progress in glucose monitoring or metabolism tracking? These will be water change development in healthcare technology and every business is fighting against this goal.
Apple also has to play Google collection, and that’s the Wear OS partners. Recent Wear OS devices have added features such as AI models on device, zero pulse detection of the worst health emergencies and even gestus controls such as Apple Watch introduced.
In other words, there is room for a big leap forward for watchos and all Apple laptops. Even AirPods could come in the mixture with new sensor functions, such as rumor optical sensors on the buds. If Apple announces large new developments for health functions, devices will not be far behind.
