The Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that a new rain system is expected to enter Pakistan on January 14.

The arrival of this system will result in rainfall across different regions and is expected to reduce the intensity of fog in affected areas.

According to the department, dry weather continues across Punjab, including Lahore, while dense fog has taken over the plains of the province today. Due to extremely low visibility, traffic may experience difficulties.

In some areas of the province, visibility has been recorded as low as 50 meters due to the thick fog.

The minimum temperature recorded in Lahore today was 5°C, with a maximum expected temperature of 17°C.

On the other hand, the ongoing cold wave in Karachi and across Sindh was expected to continue, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department predicting continued cold and dry conditions for the next two days.

In Karachi, temperatures fell as low as 8°C to 9°C during this period, with a maximum temperature range of 25°C to 27°C.

The city recorded a minimum temperature of 8.5°C, accompanied by stronger than normal winds.

The weather office also predicted light rain or drizzle in parts of Sindh, including Sanghar, Tharparkar and Umerkot districts, in the evening or night of the following day.
