- Wonder Man‘s co-creator has admitted that he doesn’t know why it’s being released all at once
- All eight episodes of the Marvel TV show air on launch day
- Andrew Guest hopes it will be the “right choice for this show”
Wonder Man‘s showrunner has revealed that he doesn’t know the reasoning behind each episode being released on launch day.
Speaking exclusively to TechRadar, Andrew Guest explained that he was not privy to conversations about how the Disney+ show would be released. Nevertheless, Guest said he hoped it would be the “right choice” for a series that has been labeled a half-hour sitcom by people both inside and outside of Marvel Studios.
Wonder Manwhich comes out on 27/28 January, is not the first Marvel TV show airs in its entirety on release date. In fact, every installment of Echowhich included just five paragraphs compared to Wonder Man‘s eight, fell on day one of their arrival in January 2024.
Other Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) TV Originals have also had different release formats, with some premiering with one episode and others launching with their first two chapters.
Meanwhile Iron heartone of last year’s Marvel TV releases, fell into two parts, with each part consisting of three episodes each. Clearly, there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach when it comes to the comics giant’s TV offerings on one of the world’s best streaming services.

Nevertheless, this is only the second time that a Marvel Studios small-screen project has launched in full. Aside from the fact that a binge drop might fit a series whose episodic runtimes—despite end credits sequences—only range from 20 to 30 minutes, why is the Marvel Phase 6 TV show landing all at once?
“That’s above my grade,” Guest said with a laugh. “As far as I know, there was no plan one way or the other [to release it weekly or in bulk].
“I don’t think it’s necessarily up to Marvel in terms of how Disney wants to release and market it or how many episodes they want to release at once,” he added. “So, we’ll see. I think there are positives and negatives to a full drop versus weekly episodic releases, and hopefully this is the right choice for this show.”
