- Games get recorded with Blackmagic Ursa Cine -Defense Cameras
- Streams begin with the beginning of 2026 via NBA and Spectrum Sports Net -Apps
Apple is already released a good bit of immersive content shot specifically for Vision Pro. You can get close to Bono, rock out with Metallica or look behind the curtain at Yankee Stadium – even though it hurts to write today after yesterday’s game – or stand next to a bunch of rhinos.
We’ve seen a wide range of content, but I’ve been waiting for something live – specifically live sports. Watching that Apple TV+’ Friday night baseball Is to catch games with the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max gave me some hope and now we have a confirmed release. In what may be the start of something new, choose Los Angeles Lakers games will be live-streamed in Apple Immersive for The Vision Pro this coming season.
It’s not every game, but for those who stream – exclusively to the $ 3,500 spatial computer – you get access to views that put you right in the middle of the action. Special cameras that support the format will be set court and under each basket to give you perspectives that amplify the submersion. Lakers’ games are recorded using a special version of Blackmagic Designs Ursa Cine Immersive Live Camera.
In my eyes, this feels like Apple that delivers a lift or at least begins to-as even in my first demo with Vision Pro, I was treated with amazing, close to a whole sports.
Like Apple TV+implementing the iPhone 17 Pro in unique places around Fenway Park, the idea of capturing an NBA game in this format is to deliver a broadcast that repeats the feeling of being on the game. Or in some cases – with a view from the web or as a player on the bench – a perspective that is usually reserved for the athletes.
However, this will not be for each lakers game. Apple and NBA will announce which ones can be seen on Apple that will be immersed later in the fall (by the end of November 2025), with the first expected at the beginning of 2026.
If you assume you have Vision Pro-AS available in the US, UK and Australia, you need the NBA app or the soon-to-be-released Charter Communications Spectrum SportsNet app. Both require Visionos 26 or later, which Apple released on September 15, 2025.
You probably need an active subscription to both services, but we are still waiting for these details. Currently, via both apps, you will be able to stream the Lakers in Apple Immersive Live or On Demand for three days after each game ends in the US. Some live events will be limited to Lakers’ regional broadcast area, so if you are not in a particular state or city, you may encounter a delay.
If you are outside the United States, you do not fear – you can still get your head in the game with replacements in the NBA app in the UK, Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and UAE.
Although we do not yet know the date of the first game if you have a Vision Pro, this is likely to be something to put in. The NBA app already offers unique experiences to see traditional broadcasts with statistics and play-by-play as well as digital views from the court.
But if this immersion really makes it feel like you’re there, with some incredible shots, it could be the closest we’ve had the long promised experience. And if the NBA and Lakers go well, it may encourage other teams, leagues and entertainment partners to try similar feats for Apple’s immersive formats.
And when the more affordable Vision Pro arrives, Apple will have more engaging, comfortable content ready to serve new customers.
