Nearly 10 years after the first reveal, Chucklefish has finally announced that its magical lifesim Witchbrook Start Holiday 2025 for Nintendo Switch, Xbox and PC this holiday season.
The news comes from the latest Nintendo Direct exhibition window along with a fresh gameplay trailer showing the busy coastal city of Mossport, the surrounding Woodlands and Witchbrook College, where they will be able to sign up for a witch-in training.
Making friends, finding romance in the midst of a role crew of grades and spending time between classes by feeding in the deep forest is only a few aspects that the game offers.
You can also sell crafts on the Sunday market, attend seasonal events and renovate and customize your cozy forest cabin and garden with customized clothing, hair and accessories.
The game will also include up to four-player online co-op, giving players the opportunity to design their own unique stories and experience Witch Academia together, something I think is incredibly appealing on top of Witchbrook‘s beautiful pixel art aesthetics.

“Witchbrook Is the most exciting project I’ve ever worked on and it’s been a long time, but I’m very eager to get the play in the hands of the players soon, ”said Chucklefish CTO Rodrigo Braz Monteiro.
“I don’t think the level of simulation and belief we have targeted in this game is expected of any game that is short for AAA and to see it realized in a pixel art indie game has been very satisfying for us. At the moment we only share a little twinkle in a big game and I can’t wait until the community sees what comes over the next few months.”
“Witchbrook Is our love letter to thoughtful living, the quiet magic in slow moments and the connections we share with each other and the world around us. Whether players explore solo or share in the adventure we hope Witchbrook becomes a space to relax and create lasting memories, ”said art director Steph Caskenette.
The Nintendo Switch Direct exhibition window was filled with revelations and trailers, including the message of virtual game cards, a new switch feature that makes it easier for players to lend their digital games.
