Original Story:
CD Project Red has shared a whole new look at The Witcher 4 With an impressive tech demo.
Under the State Unreal 2025 -Event Today we were treated with a technical demo that offered an early glimpse of the unreal engine 5.6 features that will be in The Witcher 4.
At the beginning of the livestream, we saw a short film by a group of men attacked by a monster before shooting seamlessly transitions to gameplay. Then we see CIRI, the titular witches of the game and playable protagonist coming out of a cave on a cliff after examining the attack and shown it never before seen region Kovir.
According to CD Project Red, the shown gameplay on the base PS5 at 60 FPS, with radiation pording activated and it looks incredible.
Like Geralt from Rivia, Ciri also has her own horse -friend named Kelpie, and the two can be seen riding through the mountains and dense forests in Kovir to the port city of Valdrest.
Look at
The city is busy with crowds of NPCs, some of which will respond in certain cases created by the player thanks to Unreal Engine’s Metahuman technology with Mass AI -Crowd scaling.
For example, when Ciri knocks into a man wearing apples, she starts a chain reaction. She apologizes, and then a child can be seen running rather than stealing some apples that fell on the ground, followed by a pig who wants to eat them up.
We also see other NPCs that interact with each other and create their reactive scenes, making the whole city feel alive. It also seems that gameplay seamlessly transitions back to cutcenes when CIRI reaches its destination and starts a conversation, suggesting that there will be no black load screens between these moments.
Tools such as the new Unreal Animation Framework and Nanite League Reproduction Used in The Witcher 4 To help deliver a deepening world of 60 FPS without compromising on quality, according to the developer.
“We started our partnership with Epic Games to push the open world pile technology forward,” said CDPR Co-Ceo Michał Nowakowski. “To show this early look at the work we have done using Unreal Engine, which runs on 60 fps on PlayStation 5, is a significant milestone – and a will on the great collaboration between our team.
“But we are far from finished. I look forward to seeing more progress and inspiring technology from this partnership as the development of Witcher 4 on Unreal Engine 5 continues.”
The study also confirmed that while the tech demo was running on a PlayStation console, the features and technology will be supported across all platforms, the game is launched on “, including Xbox and PC.
