Paige Bueckers got national attention in the midst of her collegial career with Uconn Huskies as she complained about the lack of coverage of black women received in sports at the 2021 ESPY Awards.
Almost four years later, the BUEKERS remained of the belief that black women do not receive enough coverage from the media and added that she believes white people benefit from marketing opportunities.

“It’s still a problem, every single day,” Dallas Wings Rookie told Time Magazine in an interview that was published on Monday. “There’s not ever equal coverage.”
“There is white privilege every single day that I see,” she said in terms of marketing opportunities. “I feel that I have worked extremely hard, blessed by God. But I think there are more opportunities for me. I feel like I’m just marketability, people tend to favor white people, white men, white women. I think it should be equal opportunities. my business. ”
Bueckers are set to be among the next generation of basketball stars to lead WNBA into the future.
Rookie’s comments repeated what Caitlin Clark told Time Magazine last year and what she repeated to comedian David Letterman in his interview with him.

“I definitely have privilege,” Clark said on Netflix’s “My next guest needs no introduction.”
“I’m obviously white, but I think … I’m someone who grew up a big fan of this league. I grew up watching this league, go to play, support this league. So I know where this league is coming from.
“A lot of black women who grew up making this league into it is. These are kinds of shoulders that we stand on. So I think it was something I am very aware of and something I am very grateful for. And they certainly deserve all that, and the more we can give the credit to them, the better.
The Indiana Fever star talked about having “privilege” in her interview with time months after several of her league colleagues expressed their belief that Race played a factor in her popularity.
“I would say that I have served every single thing, but as a white person there is privilege,” Clark told Time. “A lot of the players in the league who have been really good have been black players. This league has been built on them.

“The more we can appreciate it, highlight it, talk about it, and then continue to get brands and businesses to invest in the players who have made this league incredible, I think it’s very important. I have to keep trying to change it. The more we can raise black women it becomes a beautiful thing.”
