WNBA released a statement Friday that addressed the recent wave of fans throwing sex toys in courts during games.
The statement indicated that the league is cooperating with federal law enforcement to pursue criminal proceedings against the guilty involved in the events.
“Security for everyone in our arenas remains a highest priority. We work closely with local and federal law enforcement to pursue all appropriate actions – including arrest and prosecution with crimes where relevant – against anyone who deals with this behavior or otherwise involved in sponsoring this reckless and unacceptable behavior,” the statement states.

Sex toys have been thrown during at least six WNBA games during the last week and a half. The first happened during a game in Atlanta 29 July. It happened in Chicago August 1st and again on Thursday. In Los Angeles Tuesday, a sex toy almost hit Indiana Fever Guard Sophie Cunningham.
Sex toys were also allegedly thrown at stake in New York and Phoenix on Tuesday, but did not seem to reach the court. An 18-year-old man was arrested and indicted after the incident in Phoenix.
He reportedly told police that he pulled prank because it had been in trent on social media. He was arrested on suspicion of assault, disorderly behavior and publicly showed explicit sexual material. There is also an ongoing investigation into the incident in New York, Liberty confirmed to Associated Press.
