Wnba continued to be plagued by creepy disturbances this week as fans at the arenas across the league disturbed the game by throwing adult toys on the field.
Before Minnesota Lynx Head coach Cheryl Reeve, “Prank”, as some call it, is much more serious than just a viral moment.
“This has been going on for centuries – sexualization of women,” she told journalists on Thursday after the team’s practice.
“This is the latest version of it. And it’s not fun. And it shouldn’t be the back of jokes on any radio programs or on print or in comments.”

Reeve took a moment to tackle the situation – unforeseen – as at least six WNBA games have involved similar events.
“The sexualization of women is what is used to keep women down. And it’s no different. This is just its recent form and we should write about it that way. And these people who do this should be held responsible and we are not the back of the joke. They are the problem. And we have to intervene.”

Later that day, and despite the reeves pleas, a fun object was thrown onto the field during a Atlanta Dream Play in Chicago. Another sex toy was allegedly thrown in the third quarter, but the object did not come to court and instead landed somewhere near the dream.

The obscene items have been thrown during at least six WNBA games during the last week and a half. The first happened during a game in Atlanta 29 July. It happened for the first time in Chicago 1 August and Los Angeles Tuesday, almost hit Indiana Fever Guard Sophie Cunningham, and again in Chicago on Thursday.
The objects were also allegedly thrown at stake in New York and Phoenix on Tuesday, but did not seem to reach the court. At least two people have been arrested in the disturbance, one in Georgia and one in Arizona.

An anonymous person associated with a crypto group has assumed responsibility for at least some of the incidents, but WNBA did not respond to requests for comment on the validity of these claims.
The league has threatened legal prosecution and at least a year-long ban on all fans trying similar stunts on WNBA games.
