Woman killed by man, brother of ‘honor’

Karachi:

A woman was allegedly stabbed to death in the name of the honor of her husband and brother in a house in the Awami colony area in Korangi. Police have arrested the defendants.

The woman, who was identified as 40-year-old Zeenat, wife of Ghulam Qambar Laghari, had allegedly been married twice and had three children from her first husband. Her second husband, Laghari, along with Zeenat’s brother, Mitha Khan Jamali, used a sharp instrument to stab her in the neck and different parts of her body and kill her in honor. After reporting the incident, the police reached the place and called the criminal scene to collect evidence from the stage while the deceased woman’s body was moved to the hospital for litigation.

Sho Awami Colony, Khalid Memon, revealed that police were informed of the incident of a citizen contacting Madadgar 15, after which police immediately arrested the defendant. In addition, Sho Memon reported that the defendant, after committing the crime, disposed of the murder weapon. A search for weapons is ongoing along with further investigations of the incident.
