A minor traffic accident in Karachi’s Isa Nagar area escalated when a woman opened fire in response to a collision, which led to her arrest and a police investigation.
According to Express newsThe incident took place late Friday night around 7 p.m. 1 when a truck collided with a luxury car. In a care of rage, the woman went, identified as Alesha Amir, her vehicle, pulled out a 9 mm gun and fired shots in the air.
The shot panicked in the area and got the truck driver, Zafar Iqbal, to seek refuge behind the nearby police officers.
Police responded quickly to stage and took both people into custody. Alesha Amir and the truck driver were both named in a single four. After examination, it was revealed that the woman’s firearm license had expired.
Police reported the accident happening when the truck swiped the luxury car. Amir’s reckless actions escalated the situation and caused fear among spectators. While the truck driver fled to safety, police quickly arrived to understand both parties involved.
When he was detained, Alesha presented his firearm license, but the authorities found it was outdated, which resulted in further lawsuits.
Police have filed charges in accordance with section 337 of the Pakistan Penalty Code of the woman’s reckless firing and additional sections of the gun laws to have an expired weapon license.
Both Alesha and Zafar Iqbal were taken to the women’s police station and the PIB police station respectively, and their vehicles were placed. They were later presented to the court where they were taken into custody.
The incident is constantly highlighting questions in Karachi with the uncontrolled movement of heavy vehicles such as trucks and dumpers, which have been a source of concern for local residents.
According to welfare organizations, over 150 fatalities have occurred in Karachi due to traffic accidents during the first two months of the year, with many involving large vehicles.
