- Xbox is reportedly working with a Mystery OEM partner to develop a PC game that is handheld
- The handheld is apparently scheduled to launch this year

Have you felt a little downfall and gloom over the current state of Xbox hardware? That may change this year as Xbox reportedly develops a PC game handheld in partnership with an AS-of-Yet Unknown OEM (original equipment manufacturer).
Windows Central reports that the handheld, the code name ‘Project Keenan’, is intended to arrive sometime in 2025. According to sources, the partner unit will look the part with all the usual Xbox branding, iconic green highlights, and the still important Xbox Guide button.
It is not clear which OEM Microsoft has collaborated with for the development of the alleged game handheld device. Probably candidates could be MSI, Lenovo or ASUS – all of whom have had successful handheld excursions with units such as Lenovo Legion Go and Asus Rog Ally.
The handheld would probably be PC-play-oriented, as well as the aforementioned devices as well as the steam deck. It would probably also be driven by Windows 11 and offer support for lifting rockets, including Game Pass and Steam. Of course, such a handheld would also be a good fit for Xbox Cloud Gaming.
It should not be a surprise that Xbox itself may come into the handheld game. Such devices have proven to be a massive success in general, offering PC-Grade power in a portable friendly chassis.
Not to mention the fact that several console -centered handhelds have also been huge hits, successfully with Nintendo Switch and PlayStation Portal are most visible. Plus, with Nintendo Switch 2 arriving later in the year, the time would definitely be right for Xbox to enter the ring with a potentially more powerful PC game-focused alternative.
