- The Xiaomi 17 series has been revealed where the pro models have two screens
- Xiaomi 17 Pro Max has a massive 7,500mAh battery
- All three phones have a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset
Xiaomi has just announced its new flagships in the form of Xiaomi 17T and 15T Pro launch, and these phones have a lot of eye-catching specifications.
The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is the top model and the most interesting, with both this and the Xiaomi 17 Pro, which has another display on the back, similar to a smaller version of the cover screen of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7.
This second screen can be used to hit selfies taken with the back cameras, showing widgets from apps and even playing game-if paired with an official game boy-like case.
In the case of Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, this is a 2.9-inch screen, while the Xiaomi 17 Pro has a 2.7 inch and they both have a 120Hz update speed.
As for their main screens, the Xiaomi 17 Pro has a 6.3-inch, and the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max has a 6.9-inch and both have a 120Hz update speed.
Massive batteries and top-end chipset
Another highlight of these phones, however, is their battery capacity, where the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max has an honest ridiculous 7,500mAh capacity and the Xiaomi 17 Pro has a 6,300mAh battery. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has only a 5,000 mAh battery and the iPhone 17 Pro Max has a 5,088mAh one (or 4,832mAh outside the US).
Both phones are charged at 100W or 50W if you use wireless charging, and both have a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which is Qualcomm’s brand new flagship chips, and should make these handsets more powerful than any currently available Android phones.
They also both have a trio of 50MP cameras on the back, including wide, ultra-areas and 5x telecommunications settings along with a 50MP camera on the front. There are also up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage in both phones.
The base Xiaomi 17 is a little less interesting as it does not have another screen, but you still get a 6.3-inch main display, a 50MP-triplet-linen camera, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-chipset and a huge 7,000 mAh battery.
These phones are launched so far only in China, but we would expect one or more of them to land in Europe early next year – although an American release is very unlikely, as Xiaomi does not have much of a presence there.
