New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone and other Baseman DJ Lemahieu were thrown out in the 10th round of the team’s 2-1 loss to Boston Red Sox Friday at Fenway Park to argue for a bad ball.

Lemahieu battled at the top of the 10th round with two outs, and he cut a drive down the right field line from Red Sox Reliever Garrett Whitlock.

The first base judge Jeremie Rehak called the ball to be wrong, and the usually muted Lemahieu responded in disagreement with the call as he ran down the first baseline. Boone then challenged the call.

After a long review, the judges maintained the call that the ball went to be evil. Boone, not happy with the decision, was shaken.

Boone shouted at the judges, threw his hands up into disbelief and took the gum out of his mouth and threw it to the field. He was immediately pushed out of the home plate.

“I want the courage to overthrow the call,” Boone told journalists after the game. “A quarter of the ball is on the field.”

Lemahieu ended up grounded out to the first base to finish the inning. As Lemahieu passed Rehak, he let the first base judge know about his dissatisfaction and was thrown out for the first time in his 15-year career.

Lemahieu said he said to Rehak, “It was a brutal call,” before he was thrown out, according to NJ Advance Media.

“Of all the things I’ve said to Umpires, I was pretty surprised.”

The 36-year-old second Baseman said he did not curse on rehak.

Yankees did not score at the top of the 10th lap and Red Sox went Yankees away at the bottom of the lap to take the first game of the three-game series.
