Two rookie starters debuted in Bronx on Thursday night, but only one made MLB story in the end.
New York Yankee’s Flamethrower Cam Schlittler not only delivered the performance that the homemaker needed to reach ALDS, but a Boston Red Sox Manager Alex Cora called “Perfect.”
Schlittler threw eight scoreless innings and beat 12 men without walking in Yankees’ 4-0 win to secure Game 3 to win the Wild Card series.

Schlitter, who let five scattered hits, is the first player in MLB Post Seasonal History to go eight scoreless innings with 12-plus strikes and no walks. He threw 107 seats after Manager Aaron Boone let him go in the eighth lap after throwing his 100th height to finish the seventh lap.
Meanwhile, Yankees tried to come after Red Sox-Rokie-left-handed Connelly early, a 23-year-old who thrived in four regular season starts. While Schlittler started strongly, early matched his energy and struck five Yankees through his first round of the lineup.

But the bottom of the fourth lap is where the wheels fell off early after Cody Bellinger’s Bloop hit to a short midfield resulted in a double after Ceddanne Rafaela’s diving attempt did not work.
After Giancarlo Stanton went and Ben Rice knocked out, Amed Rosario, who was in the game for the left-wing right matchup against early, came through with an RBI single to get Yankees on the board first.

The hit train came after that when Jazz Chisholm Jr. Loaded the bases with a single and Anthony Volpe hit a single to make it 2-0. Then Austin Wells played openly after his sharply hit ball to the first base resulted in a Nathaniel Lowe error scoring two races.
With a four-race, Yankees led to Schlittler to continue to strangle Red Sox’s violation and he did just that. Schlittler drove through eight laps until David Bednar closed the door in the ninth lap.
With the win in the win-or-go-home matchup, Yankees will now go to Toronto to meet Blue Jays, who held on to the Al East title at the end of the regular season.
