Jazz Chisholm Jr. Clearly wasn’t excited not to start Game 1 in New York Yankees’ Wild Card series Tuesday night.

Opposite Boston Red Sox Dominant Lefty Garrett Crochet was Yankees’ left-handed hit the second Baseman one of the odd men out of a Yankee lineup that tried to take advantage of matchups.

It didn’t work when Yankees fell 3-1, while the crochet dominated with 7.2 laps and 11 strikes.

Chisholm sat on the bench despite hitting 31 homers and stole the same number of bases. He just became the 49th player in the MLB story to join the 30-30 club.

As journalists approached Chisholm in the Yankee Clubhouse after the game, he hardly paid them a mind and held his back turned for almost the entire duration of his mediaSal session and mixed things in his closet.

Chisholm said that manager Aaron Boone texted him the night before to tell him he would not start.

“We have to do what we have to do to win, right? That’s how I look at it,” he said awkwardly.

When asked if he was surprised he didn’t start, he replied, “I guess, yes.”

Instead, it was Amed Rosario who played another base. He went into the game 6-for-9 lifetime against crochet and hit .302 vs. Lefties this year. Rosario went 0-for-3, and when Chisholm entered the eighth round in defense, he had to meet Aroldis Chapman, also a left side, in the ninth lap. He flew out as Yankees was unable to score with the bases loaded and none.

Boone has been exposed to a lot of criticism for taking out Max Fried after 6.1 laps of Scoreless Bold. He went to a fighting Luke Weaver who immediately allowed two races, and Yankees was unable to fight back.

Yanks is facing Brayan Bello with their season on the line, and Chisholm figures to be back in the starting lineup to meet the right one.
