Yankee’s Opening Day: Fans disturbed over National Anthem Singer

New York Yankees fans seemed to have a hard day at the ballpark, and it started before the first pitch and continued into the ninth lap as the team tried to close a win over Milwaukee Brewers during Thursday’s opening day match.

Betsy Wolfe, a Broadway actor and singer, was tapped to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” before the game began.

But Wolfe’s reproduction seemed to raise eyebrows for the wrong reasons when fans were quick to point out that natives in California were reading the lyrics out of her phone.

The “Juliet” star was facing the setback on social media to have his phone out, with at least one fan praying on x to “make it better.” But others were impressed with her voice in general.

Yankee’s fans’ hearts drove early as Catcher Austin Wells hit a solo home ride to get on the board. He became the first catcher in the MLB story to hit a leading home drive on opening day.

Still, New York had a hard time closing the door on the breweries.

New Yankees closer Devin Williams allowed a Joey Ortiz Single and an Isaac Collins double to start the top of the ninth lap. Then he let a race to score, but was able to beat Jackson Chourio and Christian Yelich to finish the game.

New York won, 4-2.
