Memphis Grizzlies star Yes Morant is not expected to be punished by the NBA for a gun-related gesture he made during a recent game.
According to ESPN, the league issued a warning to Morant, but does not plan to fine or suspend him in response to Finger Gun-Gestus the two-time NBA All-Star aimed at the Golden State Warriors’ bench on Tuesday.

Morant has been disciplined by NBA several times throughout her career, and some of these punishments were due to gun -related events. The league handed over an eight-game pension in 2023 after Morant flashed what seemed to be a gun during a social media livestream at a Colorado nightclub.
Later that year, Morant seemed to blink a weapon while he was in a car under another social media video. He was suspended another 25 games.

“Yes, Morant’s decision to once again exercise a firearm on social media is alarming and disturbing considering his similar behavior in March, for which he was already suspended eight games,” said NBA Commissioner Adam Silver at the time of his second suspension.
“The potential for other young people to emulate JAS’s behavior in particular. In these circumstances, we believe that a suspension of 25 games is appropriate and makes it clear that engaging in ruthless and irresponsible behavior with cannons will not be tolerated.

Morant was also placed under the microscope after a January 2023 game where an unidentified person in the NBA star’s vehicle was accused of shining a laser pointer on Indiana Pacers’ Team Bus. It happened after some members of Morant’s Entourage were involved in a confrontation with a group of people in Pacers’ travel party.
Grizzlies is entering Thursday’s match against Miami Heat at the eighth place in the Western Conference position.
