- Meta may have just spoiled two smart glasses reveal from Connect
- They appeared in a now deleted video on its YouTube channel
- A third new pair of glasses may have been shown as well
You hate to see it. Well unless you are a technical journalist who thrives on covering leaks. That’s because Meta’s entire Connect Smart Glasses setup has apparently been spoiled by a video sent to its own YouTube channel (which has subsequently been hidden).
We are just over a day away from Meta Connect 2025 at the time of writing, and based on other leaks and comments from Meta’s CTO and CEO we have expected a smart glasses heavy showcase.
That seems to be the case: As Uploadvr Reports, a video that briefly appeared on Meta’s social media showed a pair of glasses called Meta Ray-Ban display, along with a brief overview of its entire set-up, which includes a pair with a visor design-two frames previously leaked.
The display frames are similar to Chunky Wayfarers, but in return for a slightly doofier design, you apparently get some impressive new features like a map on screen cards for directions and translations that appear over the text you can’t understand among others.
They also appear to be controlled by a kind of bracelet – which was also leaked – with a similar band used to control Meta’s Orion Prototype glasses.
For me, however, the greater surprise is the visibility design we see in the leak that changes the camera from the temple to the nose from a more centered video recording perspective.
This framework was also teased earlier this year to be a sporty smart glasses design developed in collaboration with Oakley.
I would be the first to admit that I had simply assumed that these glasses had been preserved instead of the HSTN design we got instead, but it seems that Meta simply gives us two Oakley frames in one year.
Unfortunately, the trailer does not reveal much about this visor beyond its appearance, even if it was leaked, it was suggested that it boast some sporting integrations and features. We will have to wait and see what Meta officially advertises to know if that is still the case and how it manifests itself.
On the note that with all leaks, we should take this video with a pinch of salt. That said, given that the clip was sent to Meta’s own YouTube channel, I lean against this that this is an oopsie from Meta’s side and revealed a few too many gadgets early.
Fortunately, we only have one day left to find out if this leak is real or not.
A third pair of smart glasses is approaching?
While there are two obvious additions to the Meta Smart Glasses lineup, there is another pair I want to highlight, and it’s Blue Ray-Bans squeezed between the Oakley specifications in the picture above.
That’s because Meta does not currently offer blue meta-beam beam, and I don’t think it has ever sold opaque blue frames that we see here-only ever transparent blue frames.
It is possible that Meta will simply advertise new color paths for its Ray-Ban Smart Specs, but as I have said for months, I think it launches upgraded Ray-Bans-I would bet that these are these improved specifications.
The upgrades, in my opinion, would simply bring the beam forban to the Oakley Hstn glasses by equipping them with the new and improved camera, and the better battery life offered by Meta’s latest smart glasses.
Again, we will have to wait and see what Meta is up to the sleeve and how much these two or three new pairs cost, but this leak has only made me more excited to set me to Meta Connect – which leaves me to wonder if it was not a intentional ‘accident’ to build hype.
