- Disney+ finally lets you remove items from your ‘Continue to see’ list
- The streaming service says it is a “highly expected global update ‘
- It rolls out first to Apple TV and iOS, with multiple platforms arriving in the coming weeks
I stream a lot of content on Disney+, whether it’s a DCOM -Original movie Rwatch, one of the original shows that Dream ProductionsOr to watch a classic movie – but I also sometimes just go away in the middle of a TV episode or a movie. And it leads to a beautiful packed list under ‘Continue to see’ that is not in any particular order.
It also means that when I start a new show – maybe the latest from Marvel – and ends up hating it, unfortunately it clings around. But that won’t be the case long – Disney+ answers our collective prayers and will let us edit the list to remove this show.
The regrettable power will soon be nothing but a bad memory and will not haunt your new streaming content insert.
The streaming giant said it was a “very expected global update” and it is starting to roll out now on a whole series of platforms, including TV and mobile. In short, it is one of the best changes in the recent story from one of the best streaming services around.
It rolls out on Apple TV and iOS first, with other platforms that will follow in the coming weeks. And here’s the best news: It’s super easy to get started removing content from your continuation list. This means that you are not stuck for much longer with the movie you wound up hatred after five minutes.
There are four ways to remove content from your ‘Continuing Course’
Disney+ has devised two ways of removing content from this auto-populated surveillance list, so let’s break down the first one.
When you are on the streamer’s mobile app -website and watch your ‘Continue watching’ Bar, you can simply navigate and select the show or movie and select the three dots next to the name. From there you will press “Remove” to see it disappear. This applies to your entire profile within your Disney+ account.
If you are on the web, hover over the title and see the ability to remove – a circle with a line in the middle, as the equator – appear – just press it and it is removed.
On the TV, as you can’t just touch it, you navigate to the title of the bar and a long time on it to reveal the remote function. It asks you to confirm if you want to remove the title from the list and you can approve the action.
Alternatively, if you happen to be on the details of the TV show or movie, and it is in your ‘Continue WatchList’, you will watch Remove the icon next to playing/starting, resuming or saving at the end. You can simply select that icon to remove it from the list.
Disney+ definitely made it easy and rolled several ways to perform it. The only hope is that people without an iOS device or Apple TV 4K will soon receive updates on their various platforms.
In the release that announces the change, Disney+ also explains that if you see content on your surveillance list that you do not remember to play, it may look if you share your account with someone else using the same profile. Remember that with a single Disney+ account you can create up to seven profiles. Of course, it can also be a reminder of the people who shared your account before Disney+ and other streaming services started to crack down on office sharing.
Still, this is excellent news. Finally, it will allow you to clean up your ‘Continue Watchlist’ without having to see through all the content or just start other shows and movies in the hope of pushing other contents further back.
It has to save us from a whole lot of headaches, and let’s hope that we see other highly requested features arrive that lets us get even more out of Disney+.
More of this, thank you, Disney!
