- Caviar offers an iPhone with a piece of Steve Jobs’ turtleneck
- Only nine of these limited edition models will be made
- The launch is part of Apple’s ongoing 50th anniversary celebrations
Pick one of the best iPhones and you’re guaranteed fast performance, excellent cameras and a polished design – but there’s a new model on the market that adds something special.
Caviar, known for making luxury custom iPhones, is now offering an iPhone 17 Pro with a piece of Steve Jobs’ turtleneck embedded into the case (via Notebookcheck). It’s something for the Apple fan who wants to stand out – and who has deep pockets.
The phone is being launched in honor of Apple’s 50th birthday as a company, a celebration TechRadar is also getting involved in: see our guides to the best Apple gadgets of all time (as voted for) and our big Apple 50th anniversary quiz.

Jobs famously used to wear a black turtleneck on stage across several major Apple product unveilings, and the fabric that Caviar apparently got hold of comes from the launch of one of the NeXT computers — and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
‘picks up the smartphone’
“This detail elevates the smartphone to a museum-worthy collectible, where Apple’s technological heritage meets a tangible trace of the man who shaped its destiny,” Caviar explains in the listing for the new phone.
A small turtleneck mark can be seen in the Apple logo on the phone’s design. The handset’s aesthetics will also be modified in an “iPhone 2G-inspired” way, with contrasting blocks of black and silver and custom engraving.
Underneath, it’s all iPhone 17 Pro (or Pro Max): an Apple A19 Pro chip, 12 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage space. You can choose your configuration on the Caviar site and add extras such as personal engraving and your own unique packaging.
And the price? It starts at $9,630 (approx. £7,275 / AU$14,045) for the 256GB iPhone 17 Pro version. Apparently only nine of these are being made worldwide, so if that appeals, you might want to book a reservation sooner rather than later.
