Typically you expect large software updates to add Features, don’t take them away. Still, a handful of things disappear in the process and if you are happy with a selected few Apple Watch faces, you may be out of luck as Apple removes a number of familiar faces with the Watcho’s 26 update.
As stained by Reddit -User Flogman12, Apple has ditched five faces in Watchos 26: The Fire and the Water, Gradient, Liquid Metal, Toy History and Steam Design.
It is not known why these faces have been removed – Apple never gives a reason to remove faces or even advertise that they are gone – but they are likely to be hard missed by their fans. It is possible that the faces were simply less popular than other options and have been cleared to make room for others.
Still, not all bad news, as Watchos 26 has updated a lot of new faces that are available for all the best Apple Watches. While the company did not add any brand new designs, it brought its floating glass visual style to a number of faces, which brought more transparency and light wrestling to your Apple Watch.
Losing face
This is not the first time Apple has cut a selection of faces from its Watchos operating system. It did the last year with Watchos 11. It is not an unusual step for the company, and it often does this to make room for other additions when it releases a larger new watchos update.
This may also have been done just to keep the list of watch surfaces on a manageable number. After all, if you are facing a scary list of hundreds of different designs to choose from, it may feel a bit overwhelming.
The fact that Toy Story Face has been dropped is interesting as this was the first movie length movie released by Pixar, while Apple founder Steve Jobs was Pixar CEO. You would think it would give this watch face a solid connection to Apple, but it wasn’t enough to save it from getting axis.
