- Google Keep -reminders are on the way to Google tasks
- Google —Opts Synchronized across multiple Google -Apps
- You can see the change happen over the next few weeks
Google has been busy moving different parts of its apps around, and after announcing the change last year, all Google Keep reminders are now putting in Google tasks in a step that is likely to confuse power users of the Note-Tag app.
As 9to5Google reports, the idea of making life simpler – with Google tasks for a key hub for all your reminders across Google Keep, Gemini, Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Docs. But that means Google Keep enthusiasts now have to jump between apps to remember what they are going to do.
You will still be able to create reminders in Google Keep by pressing the small bell icon in the upper right corner of a note. These reminders will also remain visible on the note, with your chosen date and time attached.
However, Google tasks will now take care of all messages, rather than Google Keep -reminder alarm doesn’t actually come through unless you have Google tasks or Google calendar installed or open somewhere. Try to keep the step back.

What’s more, placement ministers for Google Keep disappear as part of the transition: It means you can no longer make the app remind you to pick up milk as you pass the grocery store. You can’t do this in Google tasks either.
If you delete a task in Google Calendar or Google Tasks, the reminder from Google Keep will disappear, but the memo reminds were linked to will be. From Google Keep you can delete the note, the reminder (task) or both together.
As you can see, it’s not very easy to get hold of, and it’s likely to be a bit of a headache for serious Google -keep users who have a whole lot of notes and reminders already created. These reminders will now be moved to Google tasks for everyone over the next few weeks.
Google tasks remain a pretty barebones experience after breaking out of Gmail as an independent experience in 2018. At least it’s well embedded in all the most important Google apps and services -including, starting now, Google Keep.
