- Antherify has released a firmware update to Philips Hue Play Sync Box 8K
- The update will especially benefit PS5 and PS5 Pro owners
- It also adds “hassle -free” compatibility for 3D content
If you have a Philips Hue game setup at home, there is good news – a new software update is now being rolled out to your synchronization box and it is full of features and corrections to improve your multimedia experience.
As Hueblog.com explains, Firmware version 2.5.0 makes more changes that need to be music for the players’ ears. For example, Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box 8K now works with display power compression (DSC), allowing 8K solutions at 60Hz to PS5 Pro.
In its release notes, indicate (the company behind Philips Hue) also optimized input source -switching, which should reduce latency if you use a PS5 connected to an LG TV.
3D content can now also be directed through the 8K synchronization box, with significantly promising “trouble-free compatibility” if you still hold on to your 2011 collection of 3D Blu rays.
Bug patching
Designation has also corrected an error that has caused “problems with CEC Power On/OFF functionality and automatically turned off after 20 minutes” when the Synchronization Box’s HDMI cable was connected to the other output from an AV receiver.
Automatic light synchronization now works properly when the box is also used in this configuration.
There is also new firmware for Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box 4K. This makes “General Failure and Improvements”, although Anthing has not provided more specific details. Both updates are being rolled out now and you should receive the new firmware in the next few days (if you haven’t already done so).
