Beijing:
President Asif Ali Zardari met Wednesday with his Chinese colleague Xi Jinping, where the two sides discussed the positive course for the bilateral relationship, high quality development of CPEC 2.0 and the importance of human-to-people connections and cultural exchanges.
At the meeting held in the population’s large hall during the five-day official visit of President Zardari to China, the two leaders also discussed regional and international issues of common interest, and especially opportunities to expand the extent of the bilateral partnership, especially through continued high -level exchange.
They highlighted CPEC 2.0’s important role in promoting regional connection, common benefits and common prosperity, including through partnerships with other countries.
Both sides also emphasized the importance of people-to-people connections and cultural exchanges to strengthen the China-Pakistani society in shared future in the new era.
Underline the sustained friendship between the two countries, both leaders also confirmed support to each other about the issue of core interest.
President Zardari confirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to his strategic partnership with China and emphasized the unique, time -tested and special relationship between the two countries. He also praised China’s exemplary development, progress and prosperity and called it a manifestation of the vision of Chinese leadership and the dynamics of the Chinese people.
President Zardari also paid a rich tribute to President Xi Jinping for China’s deep contribution to global development under the Belt & Road Initiative (BRI). He called China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a shining model of Bris visionary concept of win-win collaboration.
President Zardari expanded the invitation to President Xi to visit Pakistan, emphasizing that Pakistan’s people and government are keeping him in high esteem as a visionary leader and as a special friend of Pakistan.
The meeting was followed by a Mou Signing Ceremony, where the two leaders witnessed the signing of Mous to improve collaboration in science and technology, media, purely energy and socio-economic development, among others.
Previously, President Asif Ali Zardari was warmly welcomed by President XI and presented to the honorary guard on his arrival. A group of children also expanded a warm welcome and offered a heartfelt reception to the president.
After the ceremony, President Xi Jinping hosted a state bank in honor of President Asif Ali Zardari and his accompanying delegation.
Meeting with Leji
President Asif Ali Zardari and chairman of the Standing Committee on National People’s Congress, Zhao Leji on Wednesday emphasized the time-tested and all-weather friendship between the two countries that continued to grow in depth and scope in the decades.
The president met with chairman of the Standing Committee on the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, Zhao Leji, Presidential Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release.
They also emphasized strategic mutual trust as the cornerstone of the relationship between China-Pakistan and emphasized the importance of continued high-level exchange to further elaborate on the ongoing practical cooperation.
The two sides also discussed the development of high quality CPEC 2.0 with special emphasis on promoting collaboration in science and technology, renewable energy, infrastructure and agricultural sectors.
They described CPEC as a shining example of human-centered development with its focus on win-win collaboration, common benefits and common prosperity.
The two sides discussed the possibilities of strengthening institutional relations, including through parliamentary exchanges and participation in CPEC policy parties, shared advisory mechanism, to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
