USD currency course: Rupee keeps steady

The Pakistani Rupie remained largely stable against the dollar on Tuesday, showing light fluctuations against other major currencies.

Larger raw materials such as oil are primarily traded in US dollars, while several economies, including Saudi -Arabia, continue to put their currencies for greenback.

As per the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Rate ArkAt Rupee closed almost unchanged against the US dollar with the currency sold to RS282.50 and bought for RS282.00 compared to RS282.45/281.95 a day earlier. This reflects only one change of 0.02%.

The euro slipped to RS329.68 (sales) and RS329.10 (purchase), with 0.29% from Monday’s levels of RS330.63/330.04. The British pound also relieved, trade in RS381.76 and RS381.09, marking a decrease of 0.31%.

The Canadian dollar saw a minor Uptick for the RS204.79/204.43, increased by approx. 0.07%, while the Australian dollar fell to RS183.46/183.14, a decrease of 0.37% compared to Monday.

In the golf region, UAE Dirham went up to RS77.54/77.40 from RS77.43/77.29, while Saudi Riyal rose to RS75.37/75.24 from RS75.27/75.14. Qatari Riyal softened slightly to RS77.98/77.84, down from RS78.36/78.22.

The Swiss Franc kept almost flat on RS350.26/349.65 against RS350.41/349.79 a day earlier. The Kuwaitian Dinar, meanwhile, angled higher for RS925.15 for sale and RS923.52 for purchase compared to RS924.85/923.22 earlier.

At the same time, Pakistan Stock Exchange expanded its Bullish Momentum, with the KSE-100 index crossed the 149,500 mark today.
