Micah Parsons shared her desire to be traded from Dalla’s Cowboys previously this offseason, and speculation has since swirled, with many discussing whether the owner Jerry Jones will act in the midst of the contract’s dispute.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schafter believes “divorce” at some point is coming.

“I see these two pages on the way to divorce in time,” said veteran insider in the latest episode of his “The Adam Schafter Podcast.”

Parsons has been at Cowboys’ training camp facility in Oxnard, California, but he has seen practice from the sidelines. And although he has been seen next to Jones, the team owner and general manager is talking about Star Edge Rusher’s representatives and Cowboys’ Front Office not gone at all.

“You can’t get an appointment if you don’t even speak,” Schafter said. “And the two sides have had no negotiations since last March or early April. It sounds like at this time, it’s personal. Sounds like each side is dug in. Cowboys have come out and said what they said in public at the start of training camp that Micah did not like. Micah came out and was asked to be traded, said he was ready to go from Dallas, which I am not sure.

Micah Parsons emits 4-word response as contract drama with cowboys continues

“Have other people put these feelings aside in the past and figured out a way to find out a deal? Yes. I don’t see it happening here.”

Parsons was asked about contract negotiations this past week at training camp, where he simply said, “My mouth is closed.”

Jones publicly said he has no intention of trading parsons despite his request, which he published on social media.

“I want to say to our fans, don’t lose sleep over this,” Jones said via Star-Telegram.

This comment came after Parsons not only requested a trade, but also laid out his frustrations at how contract discussions have unfolded this season.

“Yes, I wanted to be here. I did everything I could to show that I would be a cowboy and carry the star of my helmet. I would play in front of the best fans in sports and make this America’s team again – the team that my pops and I grew up cheering on the way up Harrisburg.

“I will no longer be held for negotiations with closed door without my agent present. I no longer want shots taken on me to be injured while I placed it on the line of the organization, our fans and my teammates. I no longer want stories created and spread to the media about me.

Cowboys ‘Jerry Jones remains cryptic on Micah Parsons’ status after Star’s Trade Request

As Schafter noted, there have been several times when agreements were reached, despite players publicly requesting trades. Cleveland Browns did it earlier this season with Star Defensive than Myles Garrett.

But until something changes, Schafter said he thinks this situation is heading for a breakdown.

“The only question is when should divorce will happen and how to do that,” he said. “Should they swap him now? Should they act after this year? Should they move on? When? That’s how it feels today and we’ll see if they’re doing anything to change it before the season that begins in a few weeks.”

Parsons is ready to play this season at its fifth year’s opportunity, which the team picked up before the beginning of the 2024 campaign, worth $ 24 million. Cowboys also have the opportunity to franchise Tag Parsons for two more seasons after 2025 if they can’t reach a long -term deal.

Jones has not definitely said that Parsons will fit Dallas in week 1 against the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
