Sindh Minister of Chief Murad Ali Shah has announced a public holiday in Karachi until Wednesday after heavy rain. The message came after an emergency meeting in the cm house on Tuesday, when the deteriorating situation was reviewed.
Shah urged citizens to remain indoors and avoid unnecessary journey warning that more rain is expected and the holidays are aiming to protect the public from further difficulties.

According to a statement from the CM house, Karachi received a staggering 245 millimeters of rain in just 12 hours. The heavy rain led to extensive the city’s flood, paralyzed the traffic system and struggle the city’s infrastructure.
Officials informed the meeting that while several major roads remain flooded, drainage efforts are underway. Stormwater drains are actively performed rainwater and some larger arteries are partially cleared but challenges persist.
