South Park Season 27 Section 3 has already been delayed by a week thanks to a scheduled break in the schedule, but after the first look trailer it was worth the wait. It is reintroduced towel, the talking towel first looked back in season 5. This time he is ready to take on the National Guard as he visits Washington DC – and I already fear what to come.
After its controversial premiere and another episode showing the US secretary of Homeland Security Christ’s Noem shooting puppies in an animal store, Paramount+ show holds nothing back against the current US government. Not surprisingly, the start of season 27 has drawn a lot of public criticism from those who now include a naked version of Donald Trump and a much smaller version of JD Vance. If something, switching to Howlie’s perspective is an incredibly smart move.
While we do not yet know what will happen in South Park Season 27 Section 3 Except for the initial teaser of towels that goes by a bus in front of the US Capitol (as you can see below), a speech bowl cannot be taken as seriously as any human character seen against political parodies. However, long -time fans of the show will understand how much injuries the towel could actually do … and frankly, I fear it.
Towels head to Washington DC in South Park Season 27 Section 3 and it’s dangerous
“Sickofancy”: Howlie goes to Washington, DCSouth Parks 27th season continues this Wednesday, August 20 at 1 p.m. 10/9C on Comedy Central and the next day at Paramount+. pic.twitter.com/hvzao5ii4dAugust 20, 2025
In his first character description, which can be found on South Park fandom, towels are seen “usually either that appears out of nowhere to give towels advice to the citizens of South Park or get high”. If there has ever been a sensible decision made by anyone who lives in South Park, I haven’t seen it yet, and my best guess tells me that any advice given to our political parodies either falls on deaf ears or escalates the situation. As you can see from the clip above, the National Guard has been deployed in the heart of Washington DC, where President Trump also deployed troops to the capital of real life from August 11, 2025.
There are certainly referrals to the US capital uprising on January 6, 2021, especially given the famous DC Museum, which Smithsonian changed an exhibition’s wording on August 8 to repeat Trump’s commitment to encouraging violence. In short, that is the hottest national subject South Park Could have chosen to illustrate, and certainly no one comes out on the other side unharmed.
Maybe I’m too pessimistic, and towels will just be able to connect again with his long lost son wash cloth on the basis of thought and deployed soldiers showing him the city’s cultural offerings before something further changes. But let’s realize it, that’s not what we’re doing here. Given that Howlie is almost always high, you will best bet that Washington DC’s view of marijuana will also be shown, and maybe, just maybe maybe we will see some others too spoil us.
I will not be surprised if the paramount+ follows in the footsteps of section 2 and offers another exclusive post-credits scene, neither to show more content that could not be sent on cable TV (South Park Sent on Comedy Central) or to add new scenes they have created since the episode was originally submitted. This is currently speculation, but I would say it’s worth keeping an eye on.
