Lahore:
Due to heavy rainfall throughout the country and other technical problems, passengers who want to travel by train must wait for railway stations for hours until they could board a train.
Many ups and downs faced delays on Wednesday as the department had to handle the emergency.
Pakistan Jernbaner announced changes in the schedule for several trains on Wednesday from Lahore to Karachi, Quetta, Rawalpindi and other major cities, citing operational delays.
According to the Divisional Superintendent’s Office in Lahore, the Karachi-bound Karakoram Express (42-Down) will leave an hour on schedule, leaving Lahore at 1 p.m. 4 pm instead of 7 p.m. 15.00.
Karachi Express (16-down) will experience a significant delay of 3 hours and 45 minutes that depart at 1 p.m. 21.45 rather than its planned at. 18.00.
The green line (6-down) arriving from Margalla and continues to Karachi, leaving Lahore at 1 p.m. 21.35, a delay of 45 minutes from its original at. 20.50 timing.
Meanwhile, the Karachi-bound Millat Express (18-down) runs from Faisalabad 3 hours and 40 minutes late and departs at 1 p.m. 21.30 instead of 7 p.m. 17.50.
Passengers from Pak Business Express (34-Down) and Shah Hussain Express (44-Down) are accommodated on alternative trains to today, railway men confirmed.
All other trains that are on their way to Karachi, Quetta, Rawalpindi and other destinations work according to their scheduled timings.
Divisional Superintendent Railways Lahore, Inamullah, has instructed staff to the passenger facility to remain at the station at any time to help travelers.
