- UK -Proxy use has grown when VPNs face potentially tighter rules and limitations
- Specialist proxies provide companies with flexibility, location accuracy and resilience compared to VPNs
- British companies adopt clerks across e -trade, finance and marketing
Many British companies worry further VPN regulation could be on the cards after the divisive online security law led to explosive interest in the tools, causing regulators to take notice and business to explore alternatives.
This is not about traditional Business VPNs (such as Sonicwall, Cisco Anyconnect or Fortinet), which ensures employees’ access to internal networks, but rather about specialized VPN services used for external online operations.
As a result of growing uncertainty, companies are increasingly turning to proxy services that provide greater flexibility and fewer compliance problems than VPNs.
British interest increasing
Proxies, unlike VPNs encrypting traffic and directing it through a single tunnel, offering more granular routing and customizable access, allowing organizations to carry out location-specific data collection, navigate geo-limits and monitor competitors with reduced risk of detection or blocking.
Data from Decodo shows proxy users from the United Kingdom increased by 65% after the launch of the Online Security Act, while proxy traffic increased by 88%.
It points to growing dependence on proxies as a standard part of digital infrastructure rather than a niche tool.
“Companies across the globe are getting smarter about how they work in very competitive landscapes. Instead of just choosing the most popular tools, they choose what actually works best for them, whether faster, easier to use or work better with regional -specific restrictions. It shows people thinking more critically about their options,” Vytautas Savickas said CEO in Decodo.
One of the reasons why proxies are expanding so quickly is their technical maturity, says Decodo. Providers now bundle security functions in business quality with user -friendly design, making them suitable for global companies as well as smaller companies.
At the same time, several UK companies are learning to distinguish between VPNs and proxies and matches tools to their goals.
“More organizations in the UK are investing time in understanding the tools that flow safe and efficient online operations. Most companies test different solutions, providers and conduct their research on proxies and VPNs, and they also make more informed strategic choices,” said Gabriele Verbickaitė, product marketing at Decodo.
Proxies are particularly valuable in sectors such as E -trade, financing and digital marketing, where companies use them for tasks such as ad -verification, price tracking, SEO monitoring and fraud prevention.
Options such as residential, mobile and ISP projects allow for greater stability and location accuracy compared to older methods.
“UK companies quickly adopt proxy services and move beyond simple VPNs to more advanced setups that offer greater control over their online activity. It’s no longer just about staying private -performance and reliability are now just as important,” said Vaidota’s Jowknys, commercial manager at Decodo.
