The Shedur Sanders’ slide for the fifth round of the NFL draft was the subject of widespread controversy and speculation, even by President Donald Trump, in April.

Now the Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson claims that teams were “asked not to” draft Sanders to “make an example” out of quarterback.

“I tell you so much what I heard from someone who is in the NFL, as NFL told [teams] Don’t pull him, don’t pull him, “Dickerson said in an interview about” Roggin and Rodney “-the Show at AM 570 La Sports Thursday.” ‘We will make an example out of him.’ And this came from a very good source, a very good source.

“They would make him not draft basically show you ‘this is what happens when you do this.’ I mean, look, nfl’s has all kinds of power they do all kinds of things.

Sanders was eventually taken by Cleveland Browns on the third and last day of the draft of the 144th election. Quarterback was originally considered a possible challenger to the first overall election early in the draft process after completing his last season in Colorado.

Dickerson claims that Cleveland Browns was told to work out Sanders, but did not say who asked them to do so.

“He said it – I don’t want to say who – someone called Cleveland Browns and said ‘don’t, draft him,'” Dickerson said. “Because they didn’t want to draft him either … they were forced to work out him because someone called them.”

Sanders’ slide out of the first round shocked many, including Trump, who sent a post about the truth that social condemns the league’s owners to pass on quarterback.

“What’s wrong with NFL owners, are the stupid? Deion Sanders was a good college football player and was even bigger in the NFL. “He should be” picked “immediately by a team that will win. Good luck in shooting watch and say hello to your wonderful father!”

Then, when Sanders fell out of the second and third rounds the following day, the online discourse shaking even more.

ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. said on-air after the third round that ended, “I think it’s disgusting. I don’t understand what the heck is going on with this.”

ESPN -host Stephen A. Smith revealed an SMS from an associate that compared the situation with Colin Kaepernick, who was out of the NFL since 2016, which suggested “compilation”.

“‘This is a bad look for the NFL. This feels like Kaepernick-level collusion,'” Smith said the text read and added that the situation goes beyond “talent evaluation.”

“All the hard work that the NFL League office puts on to eradicate these kinds of perceptions only to turn and see when the owners look like they are crashing, and messy all. What has been done to buckle will surpass everything else in this draft. We will never think this is about just talent evaluation again.”

When Sanders was finally taken by Browns, the team’s general manager Andrew Berry even admitted that the organization did not plan to take two quarterbacks after it chose colleague -rookie -quarterback Dillon Gabriel earlier in the draft.

“It wasn’t necessarily the plan that went into the weekend to choose two quarterbacks, but you know, as we’re talking about, we believe in the best available player. We believe in position value. And we didn’t necessarily expect him to be available in the fifth round,” Berry said.

Still, Sanders is buried on the team’s current depth card, listed as the fourth quarterback behind veterans Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and the colleague Rookie Gabriel.
