Sana rejects 27. Change rumors

Lahore:

Advisor to the Prime Minister on political affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that PML-N led federal government is “completely non-serious” about the 27th constitutional amendment and the establishment of new provinces in the country.

Rumors Mills exaggerated about possible resuscitation of the previously federally administered tribal areas (FATA) through another constitutional change after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formed a special committee for the merged districts.

The committee on July 1 initiated considerations on the resuscitation of the traditional Jirga system in former FATA, which was merged with KP in early 2018 through the 25th constitutional amendment.

IPP, an ally of reigning PML-N, formally called for the creation of new provinces in the country with the aim of improving governance, the supply of public service and the overall administrative structure.

According to the statement, the party suggested that the existing four provinces can be further divided into three administrative regions each north, south and central.

In response to a question about these rumors and demands, Sana said the government is completely non-serious about these issues. “When there is no real news, such questions are flowing,” he added. Sana talked to the media in Lahore on Saturday.

According to the advisor, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, under his address in Minar-E-Pakistan, said the way out of the crises facing the country is for all institutions to sit together.

“This year, on Independence Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Charter presented the stability in Pakistan, which embodies political and economic stability to be achieved through dialogue.”

He said until all parties sit at the table and discuss the problems openly, cases will not be resolved. “Lecture on the Charter on Stability must take place and reach their logical conclusion.”

However, Sana claimed that Imran Khan, de facto leader of the country’s largest opposition party, “spends a pleasant time in prison”. “We have no objection if he gets two air conditioning and even though his meals are ordered from PC Hotel Morning, Afternoon and Evening,” he said.

About the subject arrests of PTI leaders and workers he said, “Arrests and court decisions have no connection with the negotiations. Courts have the authority to decide and PTI has the right to appeal. If they get relief or face a negative judgment, their criticism must remain within legal and constitutional framework.”

He said some of the PTI leaders had begun to encourage people, even 25 days before the August 5th protest. “They still said August 5 would be taken to its peak. If violence or arson had taken place, the responsibility could not have been denied.”

When he talked about the May 9th of Vandalism, he said that every PTI leader and supporter moved towards certain locations that day. “It wasn’t just spontaneous – leaders at all levels said, ‘If there is Khan, there’s Pakistan; he’s the red line.'”

Sana said the current government will neither bypass anyone nor allow anyone to be bypassed.

He said that nomination papers have been accepted for the upcoming urban polls and no objection to the PTI candidate was raised. “Election is held on September 9. This is a constitutional and legal process and a democratic and healthy tradition,” he added.
