The Rachel Plate has published a surprising message.
The Fight Song Hitmaker follows in Taylor Swift’s lead and seems to take ownership of her music.
Taking to Instagram Monday, announced the plate Fight Song (Rachel’s version) Including her other famous numbers from the 2016 album Fires.
In the caption, the plate wrote: “I am proud to announce that on September 9, I will release a new album with my own,” Rachel’s Versions, “of Fight Song, Stand By You and other songs from my album Wildfire.”
“Fight Song (Rachel’s version), will also include some live songs and a surprise from Vault,” she continued to write.
The plate also continued, “I had no idea when I wrote these songs in moments of vulnerability that they would continue to change my life. For a decade, they have lived around the world and carried their own weight. They have been parts of your moments of strength, doubt and connection.”
Adding, “Now, when we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the fighting song, I have gone back to some of my originals, not to change them, but to regain them.”
“This is about more than just new versions of old songs; the new Rachel’s versions are added to the voice I have now, the wisdom I have gained, and the undeniable pride of owning my own masters.”
The plate also expressed her gratitude to Taylor Swift, who recorded her iconic Taylor’s versions of albums, which brought attention to the importance of artists who own their masters, said, “I am grateful for @taylorswift to bring this conversation to light and give back artists to take control of their work, their stories and their futures.”
“Thanks to the hugely talented original manufacturer of Wildfire, @jonlevine, to join me again to resume these songs.”
“And most importantly, thanks to all of you who have been standing with me throughout these years. I can’t wait for you to hear them again – this time, completely, completely and unapologically mine,” the Rachel Platten concluded.
