Dar meets Turkish and other colleagues on the OIC Side line

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Jeddah on Tuesday to express appreciation of his presidency of the 21st extraordinary session in the Organization’s Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council for Foreign Ministers.

The two parties confirmed solid solidarity with the Palestinian people. Dar also underlined to “strengthen our [Pakistan and Turkey’s] Multifaceted collaboration ”.

Previously, DAR also held meetings with other officials, including Bangladeshi advisor to foreign affairs Mohammad Touhid Hossain, Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohammad Haji Hasan, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Saudi officials.

The meetings were held on the sidelines for the 21st extraordinary session in the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers held in Jeddah.

During the session, DAR called for the unified action of the Muslim world and maintained Pakistan’s principled attitude towards the issue. He called for an end to Israeli occupation and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

“The high-level meeting is gathering foreign ministers and senior officials from OIC Member States to consider coordinating responses to the escalating development of Palestine, as a result of ongoing Israeli military aggression, its proposed plans for full military control over Gaza and the continued irregular violations of the Palestines’ rights said,” said the Foreign Council.
