New York Giants will waive quarterback Tommy Devito as Tuesday’s deadline for cutting down janitor is approached according to several reports.
Giants did not seem to have any intention of wearing four quarterbacks on their 53-man list. The team signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston during the high season and used a first round choice to choose Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss.

That made Devito the odd man out and ended his mythical race with Giants.
Devito, a native in New Jersey, rose in popularity as he was pressed into the starting role for six matches in the middle of the Quarterback position in 2023. He helped the team to a win in week 11 against the Washington commanders and threw three touchdown passes.

Devito was nicknamed “Tommy Cutlets” and captivated fans with an Italian hand gesture. He was 3-3 starting in 2023 and 0-2 as a starter in 2024. He has never really had the same influence on the field as he did culturally on social media or on Giants fans.
It would be difficult for Devito to do the 2025 program list with the team’s wise offseason movements. He was joked to be a trading candidate in the days following the team’s final final, but New York never pulled the trigger on a deal.

Devito will be able to find a new team or potential countries back on Giants’ training team.
